High quality visor cap by the prestigious firm of Erel. This was purchased through the Army Offizier Kleiderkasse. The cap is constructed of a very fine napped doeskin style wool with green wool band. Piping is of braided golden bullion which has toned to a rich reddish gold color. Eagle and wreath are metal and retain their factory fire gilding, indicating the cap was updated (or purchased) after 1942. Non-vented cockade. The visor is glossy black with small striations to the lacquered finish at the outer edge. I don't see any mothing to the cap.  The cap is lined with artificial silk with an intact celluloid sweatshield, under which is the Erel Sonderklasse and Offizierkleiderkasse Berlin wording.  The leather sweatband is sewn into the cap with the front being machine sewn and the rest being hand stitched as can be seen in the images. The forehead area is perforated for ventilation. There are some spots to the leather band and smudging at the forehead area. The stitching attaching the leather band to the edge of the cap is pulled out as can be seen in the images. This can be restored easily if desired. Otherwise the cap is in excellent condition.
