Well-preserved specimen of the early style Chained SS dagger.  External fittings are all solid nickel silver, with 95% of the black background color to the chain and center scabbard fitting.  Scabbard ball has a couple of very tiny impacts not visible.  Center scabbard fitting is held in place by one center screw.  Scabbard has been repainted at some point, but very long ago.  Hard to spot.  Black ebony grip has one tiny hairline crack near the lower crossguard, and a couple of ultra-minor areas of flaking adjacent to the crossguard (see photos).  Scabbard screws and pommel nut are undamaged.  Blade features the early "thin style" lettering, which is 95% perfect, with only lightening near the "T" in "Treue."  Overall, a fine quality specimen.
