Single etched dress bayonet with a scarce etch pattern. The blade is bright and is etched with a large eagle surrounded by oak leaves and acorns and the wording which translates 'In memory of my service time'. There is some wear to the finish on the blade's reverse with only some wear on the reverse. The blade is marked by C. Gustav Spitzer, which was the retailer for the (probable) maker Robert Klass. Nickeled hardware is excellent with only normal age and wear. The leather washer is still present as is the red wool plug. The scabbard retains nearly all of its original factory black finish with some wear as shown in the photos. The leather frog shows wear to the black finish. The 2009 Wayne Techet certification letter is included.
