DESCRIPTION

Near flawless specimen.  Exterior is constructed of nickel silver, which is heavily silver plated.  Fittings retain 85% of the original factory lacquer, which has turned yellow-ish with age.  One in a hundred early nickel specimens exhibit this.  Original leather hanger is present and undamaged.  Leather grip and scabbard are also nearly flawless, showing only minor scuffing in areas that can be 100% mitigated with blue-colored "Meltonian" leather polish.  Plated blade is pristine mint.  This is the earliest specimen of this sword type encountered, and has the special feature of having been produced by master swordsmith Paul Dinger, who prior to commencing the work that made him famous - damascus blades - produced plain blades for, among other companies, the Eickhorn firm.  His famous "P+D" trademark is deply stamped on the tang of the blade.  Overall, a top quality specimen, from the earliest production period, in amazing "unupgradable" condition.
