This is a very nicely preserved bayonet featuring the standard "rememberance" etch motif on the reverse of the plated blade, below which is the Puma trademark.  Blade surface itself shows very light age scratches hardly visible, and 100% of the background "frosting" remaining to the etch.  Scabbard paint is 98% present.  Beneath the brown leather Luftwaffe frog, the paint is clouded a matte grey from age.  Scabbard ball is impacted slightly.  Hilt is plated, and shows scratching and lifting to the area directly next to the bayonet lug and button (working), as well as to the front of the crossguard portion of the hilt.  The "display" side (the side with the etch) is in great shape.  Black grips are outstanding.  Please note: the runners on this bayonet are so tight, that the blade won't seat entirely, into the scabbard.  About an inch is left outside the scabbard.  Since most people display their bayonets outside the scabbard, this flaw does not detract significantly, but it must be mentioned.
